Mistrzostwa Świata IFSS dryland 2009, Saguenay (QC), Canada

Są już pierwsze informacje na temat tegorocznych Mistrzostwa Świata. Niestety zgodnie z pogłoskami odbędą się one w pierwszy raz w historii poza kontynentem europejskim w Saguenay w Kanadzie. Automatycznie eliminuje to większość zawodników z Polski z rywalizacji ze względów finansowych. W sumie trudno się temu dziwić, w końcu w Ameryce też chcą się pościgać bez śniegu. Co ważne w końcu tytuły mistrzowskie będą przyznawane zawodnikom startującym z psami czysto rasowymi.

The World Championship Dryland 2009 will take place in the city of Saguenay (QC), Canada, between October 30th and November 1st, 2009. Saguenay is located on a fjord, 2 hours’ drive north of Quebec City along & inland from the St. Lawrence Seaway on the Saguenay River. It is a city with a population of 150,000. The race site chosen is the Bec-Scie outdoor center in Saguenay where the Defi de la Mars race on snow is organized in the winter.
 
Classes
The following classes will be awarded during these World Championships:
• Canicross men and women for juniors, seniors and veterans (40 and above),
• Bikejoring men and women for seniors and veterans,
• Scooter 1 dog and 2 dog,
• Rig 4-dog, 4-dog juniors, 6-dog and 8-dog.
    
Note: In all classes, except canicross, World Champion titles will also be awarded to pure Nordic breed teams.

Trails
The trails will be from 2.5 to 7.5 km (1.6 to 4.7 miles) depending on the class. The trails are hilly, dirt tracks mainly in the woods.

Competitor Selection
The selection of the participants is left to the discretion of the IFSS national federations, which will provide the list of entries and the payment of the fees to IFSS. Individuals wishing to enter must apply through their respective IFSS national federation member. Competitors from non-member countries may apply directly to IFSS.

Entry Fees and travel support
Entry fees are US $50 for senior and veteran classes and US $30 for Junior classes.
IFSS is working at securing a budget for travel assistance for competitors from other continents than North America.

Lodging, etc.
Various lodging facilities are available in the city of Saguenay, and many tourist attractions can be seen in the area.
